RNGdle explained: badges, EP, rarity tiers and how the daily roll is scored

Updated 2026-09-24 · by the dlegame team

RNGdle is a daily game with a twist: there is nothing to solve. Once a day you press one button and get a random number between 0 and 1,000,000. The game then scans that number for patterns — is it a palindrome, a prime, does it contain 420, do its digits climb like a staircase — and awards a badge for every pattern it finds. Rarer patterns are worth more Entropy Points (EP). Your EP for the day is your score; the leaderboard resets at midnight UTC. You cannot influence the roll. That is the whole joke, and also why it works as a two-minute daily ritual. This guide explains exactly how the scoring works, using the real numbers from our engine.

How a roll is scored

  1. Your number is checked against every badge rule (there are over 150). Every rule it satisfies earns that badge — badges stack, there is no "best one only".
  2. Each badge has a fixed EP value: 100 divided by the probability that a random roll earns it. A badge that 50% of rolls get is worth 200 EP; one that 0.001% of rolls get is worth 10,000,000 EP.
  3. Your roll's EP is the sum of all its badges.
  4. That total is ranked against every possible roll to give you a tier (Trash to Mythic) and a "Top N%" figure.

Badge rarity

Badge rarity is decided purely by probability, measured across all 1,000,001 possible rolls. The bands are: Common (more than 10% of rolls), Uncommon (1–10%), Rare (0.1–1%), Epic (0.01–0.1%), Anomaly (0.001–0.01%) and Mythic (fewer than 1 in 100,000 rolls). Because EP is 100 ÷ probability, the bands also tell you roughly what a badge is worth: Common badges are worth a few hundred EP, Uncommon a few thousand, Rare tens of thousands, and Mythic badges run into the tens of millions.

This is why a single lucky roll can outscore a year of ordinary ones. Rolling the number 1, for example, is a perfect square, cube, fourth power and so on all at once — dozens of Mythic badges that together are worth well over a hundred million EP.

Roll tiers

Your roll's overall tier comes from where its total EP lands among all possible rolls: Trash is the bottom 1%, Common the bottom half, Uncommon the top 50–25%, Rare the top 25–10%, Epic the top 10–5%, Anomaly the top 5–1% and Mythic the top 1%. The exact EP cut-offs are shown in the table below, computed from the current badge set.

Streaks, leaderboards and profiles

  • The Today board ranks every roll made since midnight UTC by EP. Ties go to whoever rolled first.
  • This Week sums your EP over the last seven days; All-time is lifetime EP; Badges ranks players by how many distinct badges they have collected.
  • Rolling on consecutive days builds a streak. Playing any game on dlegame keeps it alive.
  • Every badge you earn goes into your collection on your profile page, and earning the same badge repeatedly levels it up.
  • You can add a short caption to your roll and like other people's rolls from the leaderboard.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reroll?

No. One roll per day, locked the moment you press the button. There is no way to force a better number — if there were, the leaderboard would be meaningless.

What is the best possible roll?

In terms of EP, the numbers 0 and 1: they satisfy every "perfect power" badge at once (1 is 1², 1³, 1⁴ and so on), which stacks dozens of Mythic badges. Rolling either is a one-in-a-million event.

When does the day reset?

At midnight UTC for everyone, so the switch-over time depends on your time zone. The countdown on the game page shows exactly how long is left.

Do I need an account?

No. Your browser is remembered automatically. Signing in with Google just links that progress to an account so it follows you to other devices.

Is RNGdle on dlegame the same as rngdle.com?

It is our own implementation of the same idea, built to match the genre's conventions — one roll, badges scored by probability, rarity tiers, a daily leaderboard. The badge set, scoring and leaderboards here are ours and are computed from our engine.
